Charlottesville, VA – Will Richey, a well-known restaurant owner, passed away in a car accident on Tuesday, December 12. The Albemarle County Police Department reported that the accident happened around 1:21 a.m. near the 1300 block of Owensville Road.

Will Richey was an important person in the Charlottesville restaurant scene. He started working with wine and later got into food. In 2005, he bought Revolutionary Soup, a popular local restaurant. After that, he formed a restaurant group called Ten Course Hospitality. This group played a big role in starting places like The Whiskey Jar, The Alley Light, The Bebedero, and Brasserie Saison.
Richey was also known for working with other people in the industry. His recent projects included Café Frank with chef José DeBrito and Högwaller Brewing with his friend Jonathan Corey.
